Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a HR Generalist to be based out of Philadelphia, PA. Reporting to the HR Manager, this person will be responsible for supporting various human resource functions including recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring, and employee counseling within a Manufacturing and Regional Service Center.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant Human Resource experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:



  • Manage recruitment process for hourly and salary openings.
  • Partner with operations team and manage tracking and administration of corrective action process.
  • Prepare and update HR documents and standard work.
  • Build and run data reporting in HRIS to create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics. This can include, but is not limited to: headcount reporting, talent acquisition metrics, turnover data, and workforce analytics.
  • Assist in evaluation / analysis of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. This can include, but is not limited to: Performance Reviews, Annual Goals and Objectives and Employee Profiles.
  • Provide information for audit requests in partnership with senior HR to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database.
  • Participate in Lean Daily Management (LDM) activities (Gemba walk).
  • Manage Union relations, investigations, grievance meetings and posting/bidding process.
  • Various compliance and auditing leadership and assistance, such as: payroll, AAP, D&I, personnel records, and job requisition files.
  • Manage and monitor Atkore-wide calendars, such as the Collective Bargaining Agreements and Atkore-wide HR Initiatives.
  • Participate in Atkore-wide HR programs, projects and initiatives such as: Organizational Leadership review, Atkore Leadership Development Program and the Employee Referral program.
  • Maintain company organization charts and the employee directory.

  • All other duties as assigned.


What you'll bring:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Human Resources focus and 3-5 years of relevant Human Resource experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities, both written and verbal, are preferred.
  • Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Gain an understanding of your team.
  • Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns.


Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Update training materials and procedures.
  • Partner with Safety and HR Manager to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents, injuries, production issues, and HR issues.
  • Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.


Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Be supporting an efficient team that delivers Atkore's strategy.
  • Creating and updating reports, training materials and documentation.
  • Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely
