Who we are looking for:

Atkore, a recipient of a Great Place to Work certification and a Top Workplaces USA award, is searching for a Cycle Counter, to be based out of Wayne, MI. Reporting to the Materials Manager, this person will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the cycle count program in the facility, as well as cycle counts and inventory reconciliation of finished goods, work-in-process, and raw materials to maintain inventory accuracy. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is preferred.

What you'll do:



  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the cycle count program
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory reconciliation of finished goods, work-in-process, and raw materials
  • Investigate and correct any inventory discrepancies
  • Inbound receiving functions
  • Office / manufacturing environment
  • Audit JDE reports for inconsistent data between expected versus reported build
  • Responsible for timely, daily data entry and report generation, as needed
  • Verify purchased material are received
  • Work with hourly team members to streamline processes and drive efficiencies, ensuring sustainability


What you'll bring:



  • HS Degree /GED required
  • 2-4 years' relevant working experience, in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proven knowledge of ERP systems, JDE preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Capacity to perform at a high level in a fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, plan workload, and establish priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with all levels of the organization, both written and verbal

  • Must possess a positive attitude, be a team player, and have a strong work ethic


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore Immersion Program
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy
  • Ensure tasks are performed according to standard operating procedures and regulations
  • Gain an understanding of the facility's ERP system and outside process


Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Build a cycle count program into AS400 for receiving
  • Improve Cycle Count accuracy to 60% for raw materials
  • Address all raw material shortages in MAPICS


Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Improve Cycle Count accuracy to 80% for raw materials
  • Make meaningful contributions to improve OTD to 90%
  • Make meaningful contributions to improve LA to 95%
