Job Description Summary

Summary:
Contributes to the development, implementation, coordination, and dissemination of a study examining
community supervision programs in the criminal legal and immigration systems. Interaction with study
participants is substantial, however additional responsibilities such as action event planning and facilitation,
purchasing, and grant reporting may be required. In addition to study participants, interacts with other
departmental or University staff, other Research Associates, Postdoctoral Fellow, and Principal Investigators
(PIs); may employ independent decision-making with regards to implementation of study protocols, as
appropriate. Position is grant-funded (2 years) and subject to annual renewal by sponsor.

Job Description

Essential Functions:
* In compliance with study protocols, collects, enters/downloads, transforms, cleans, and/or manages human
subjects research data, including through interviews, photovoice narratives, courtroom observations, and
surveys. Exercises judgment to revise or adapt protocols as necessary.
* Organize, compile, and enter study data into data entry application(s) and perform data verification and
"cleaning" functions.
* Uses professional judgment to ensure the safety of study participants and ensure operational efficiency.
Makes independent decisions concerning participants and other project components.
* Contributes to the analysis and dissemination of research findings, including to academic and non-academic
audiences.
* Plans and facilitates community-based action events and projects centering the research findings.
* Complies with Institutional policies, study protocols and procedures, and DHHS and IRB guidelines for
human subjects research.
Other Functions:
* May oversee work of student Research Associates. Performs planning, organizing, or administrative
functions in support of and necessary to the successful completion of study protocol(s).
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
* High school diploma or GED required. NSF-approved training in the protection of human subjects required
prior to onboarding.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster relationships with individuals with varied social identities.
* Proficiency with word processing software (preferably Word) and spreadsheet applications.

Accountabilities:
Responsible for own work. May oversee work of student employees, volunteers, and/or interns. May exercise
independent judgment in working and collaborating with community stakeholders.
