Research Assistant

The Department of Health, Behavior & Society is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) who will support a scoping review of gentrification, policing, and racialized health disparities. The position involves supporting full-text article review, data abstraction, synthesis, and manuscript development contributing to the advancement of public health's understanding of gentrification, urban development, and exposure to policing.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the scoping review process by reading and reviewing full-text articles and screening by eligibility criteria.
  • Assist with data abstraction from selected articles.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings.
  • Assist the team in other analysis, synthesis, or manuscript writing tasks.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work experience with and/or knowledge about policing, gentrification, or housing issues.
  • Experience with systematic or scoping reviews, or other forms of literature review.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)
