About This Role:



The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS is looking for a research Fellow (Post Doc) to work on climate change and climate impacts for crops and plant ecosystems. The selected candidate will conduct independent research programs in areas of modeling and processing large-volume environmental datasets (climate, water, and soil), future climate projections (IPCC CMIP6 and 7 data), and plant response mechanisms and adaptation under climate change. The candidate will be required to attend professional meetings (AGU, AMS, and ASA/CSSA/SSSA) and write manuscripts for journals and other peer-reviewed publications.

What You'll Need to Succeed:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • A Ph.D. in Climate Science, Plant or Crop Sciences, and Agronomy or related fields
  • Experience in large-volume data processing (e.g. NOAA, NASA, USDA, and specific satellite products)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication in English


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Strong experience in MATLAB, Python, or other scripts programing skillsets.
  • Publication records in related areas.


Other Requirements:



  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
