Network Architect and Network Lead

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • 5 years of experience as Network Architect & Network Lead supporting a DOD program of similar in size and scope (33-40 personnel)
  • Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
  • 7 years of hands-on professional experience as Network Architect & Network Lead of similar in size and scope (25-50 personnel)
  • Master's degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, or IT related field
  • Possess IAT/IAM Level II or greater (e.g. Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.)


SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) is an advanced information technology engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions. At the core of our capabilities is a seasoned team of highly skilled engineers and scientists with multidisciplinary backgrounds. This team is challenged daily to provide cutting edge technology solutions to our clients. SRC is searching for a well-rounded Network Architect to lead design of Information Technology (IT) networks and architecture, security and compliance, and performance optimization for IT requirements for United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) command and control facilities. Manages several projects simultaneously from design to implementation and provide installation oversight at a new facility by engaging with functional area managers (FAMs) and other project and systems engineers to ensure installed cabling will support proper systems integration throughout the space. Work supporting USSPACECOM will be conducted at the government's facilities in Colorado Springs, CO.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develops and designs robust, secure, and scalable network architectures that meet USSPACECOM requirements
  • Ensures network solutions align with current and future USSPACECOM operational needs
  • Implements and enforces USSPACECOM cybersecurity protocols and policies within the network design
  • Ensures network solutions comply with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Monitors and analyzes network performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Implements optimization strategies to enhance network efficiency and reliability
  • Evaluates and selects network technologies and vendors that meet USSPACECOM criteria and project needs
  • Manages relationships with technology vendors to ensure they deliver on their commitments
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive documentation of network architecture, configurations, and changes
  • Prepares technical reports and presentations for USSPACECOM leadership and stakeholders
  • Identifies potential network risks and vulnerabilities
  • Develops and implements risk mitigation strategies to protect network integrity and security
