This position will be responsible for the initiation of data collection and reporting on LGBTQ Health Disparities. Performs various day-to-day research related activities, primarily related to management and oversight of multiple research projects. Responsible for oversight and conducting study recruitment, data collection, data management, monthly reporting/monitoring, and IRB/Clinical Trials management. Assists in the development of study materials, data analysis and dissemination. Ability to review and thoroughly understand research protocols and procedures; conduct literature searches and retrievals; synthesize and summarize research data. Work with Medical Director of the LGBTQ Center of Excellence to publish research and programmatic findings when working with this population.

Essential Functions:
  • Performs data collection, entry, processing and verification. (10%)
  • Abstractions of cases from various source documents. (10%)
  • Manages data abstraction process. (10%)
  • Conducts and designs literature searches, manuscript retrievals and abstractions. (10%)
  • Summarizations of research data from literature or other sources. (10%)
  • Database updates for data entry and/or queries and supports database validations. (5%)
  • Manages data sources and relevant documentation of case processing. (5%)
  • Prepares and writes surveillance reports. (5%)
  • Reviews and thoroughly understands research protocols and procedures. (5%)
  • Contributes to research protocol development. (5%)
  • Performs compliance reviews and quality audits. (5%)
  • Ensures protocol and regulatory compliance of research conducted (5%)
  • Recruits and enrolls subjects in clinical trials, including obtaining informed consent, conduct study subject visits and follow up. (5%)
  • Conducts study visits as needed, including weekends, holidays and evenings. (5%)
  • Travels to other investigative sites beyond Denver Health campus using personal vehicle, in compliance with Denver Health Principle and Pracice, #5-117. (5%)

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Preventative Medicine, Life Sciences or Biostatistics, required
    Master's Degree, preferred.

Work Experience:
  • 4-6 years Four years' experience in appropriate field of study, required. Required

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects effectively and independently.
    • Ability to demonstrate excellent work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, learn research methods and apply general research best practices.
