The Job/What You'll Do:

Bring continuous improvement mindset to a growing wealth management company with multiple business lines overseeing trading for over $130B in assets for all AssetMark business lines including Adhesion. The Vice President in this role will demonstrate deep industry knowledge, a hands-on understanding of order management systems (OMS), execution management systems (EMS), market structure, trading compliance, and have experience building middle office trading operations. Successful candidate will be an experienced Leader who will develop a competitive, multi business line trading platform, manage financial and operation risk, drive scale, and execute an aggressive people engagement agenda.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule from our Phoenix, AZ or Concord, CA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of trading for client portfolios resulting from investment allocation changes and client directed activity.
  • Seek to provide Best Execution across equity and fixed income markets.
  • Manage orders in a risk-controlled manner as a fiduciary
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to improve the overall service, operating scale, efficiency, accuracy, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of business processes.
  • Determine the appropriate organization structure, goals, performance management, compensation incentives, career development, and succession planning for this growing and changing organization.
  • Systematically cultivate and maintain long-term, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, strategic business partners, and critical vendors.
  • Set goals, monitor work, and evaluate results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives are achieving business outcomes.
  • Prepare and manage budgets to meet business needs while building scale and reducing the cost per account for the operation.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.
  • Execute an aggressive people agenda to increase employee engagement and accelerate the pace of people development.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the equity, fixed income and mutual fund trading markets
  • Experience using electronic/algorithmic execution tools
  • Strong understanding of concepts in portfolio/risk management
  • Demonstrated proficiency with trading technology across various trading systems/platforms
  • Strong track record of leadership and leading highly engaged business units.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams in a variety of roles bringing strong facilitative leadership to projects and processes
  • Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, report and communicate data effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members in a fast paced environment and can effectively prioritize, manage, and identify risk.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5-10 years of relevant trading experience

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $150,000-$200,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
