As the Principal Security Engineer - AI Security, you will be a key member of the AI Security team within the Information Security department, this role focuses on implementing and managing security controls for generative AI and other Machine Learning (ML) environments. The Principal Security Engineer will ensure that AI technologies are securely integrated, processes are developed and maintained, and systems are continuously monitored and protected against potential threats. This role demands a robust understanding of various IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms leveraging AI, ML, and large language models (LLMs), with a keen ability to identify and mitigate risks in these environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with data science, DevOps, application development, and operations teams to identify and drive solutions for AI/ML security projects and challenges.

  • Define, document, and implement robust security controls for AI/ML systems.

  • Establish and maintain security monitoring and governance for AI/ML systems.

  • Continuously seek opportunities for automation and process improvements.

  • Mentor junior engineers and serve as an AI/ML security thought leader within the organization.

  • Stay current with global data sovereignty and privacy requirements, translating these needs into effective security solutions across multiple cloud environments.

  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits of AI/ML environments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Develop and deliver training and awareness programs on AI/ML security best practices for internal teams.

  • Contribute to the development of the organization's AI/ML security strategy and roadmap.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in various information security domains, including threat modeling, secure coding, cryptography, system administration, and network security.

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies, including implementing security controls for these systems.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders at varying levels of technical expertise.

  • Demonstrated success in supporting large-scale AI programs, preferably within a global organization.

  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).

  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or certifications specific to cloud security and AI/ML.

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Security, a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Publications or presentations in AI/ML security forums or conferences.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
