Cloud Automation and Orchestration Engineer, Senior

On our team of experts, you'll use cutting-edge enterprise cloud platforms to support your clients as they modernize their IT infrastructure and meet their most challenging missions. We're looking for someone like you to help develop solutions to complex national security problems

You'll closely collaborate with fellow cloud architects and engineers specializing in AWS and other platformsto define and implement cloud solution components. You'll have the chance to work within a DevOps framework to build and manage container apps and use products like Kubernetes to further the mission. With access to our internal Azure, AWS, and GCP labs, you'll have the space and time to explore different ways of solving our clients' challenges, and you'll partner with stakeholders and your team to deliver the right technical solutions. You Have:

  • 12+ years of experience professionally with IT systems

  • 5+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • 3+ years of experience with building, deployment, release automation, or orchestration for US Government

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including activities around the automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)

  • Experience with automation tools, including Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible

  • Experience with automating system configurations and orchestrating network operations and DevOps pipelines, scaling, releases, and day-to-day system operations in Cloud environments

  • Experience in working within and managing Git-based version control systems, including Gitlab and Github

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS Diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with identifying and implementing automation to improve user experience (UX)

  • Experience with scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby

  • Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML

  • Experience with leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration

  • Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies

  • Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations preferred

  • Experience with containerization, including OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes

  • Experience with managing personal project priorities and deliverables

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Cloud Certification, including AWS, Certified Solutions Architect Associate Certification, Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect, or MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
