Penn Mutual Life Insurance | Diversity Employer

It all started back in 1847 in Philadelphia. Since then we’ve come a pretty long way with a nice balance of innovative solutions and unwavering commitment to helping people find their fiscal footing and get stronger.
For our entire history, we’ve worked at setting ourselves apart from the industry by creating custom, individual life insurance policies for our clients. Never using a generic, one-size-fits-all approach to building someone’s future. It’s this approach that’s kept us in business since our founding in 1847 in Philadelphia. And helping generations of families feel the serenity and confidence of a secure financial future will keep us going for another 170 years — and for many years long after that.

That means we’re not owned by anonymous stockholders. Instead, we’re owned by policyholders. It’s no wonder that everything we do is in their best interest.
As a mutual company, we take a long-term perspective with the goal of maintaining our strength and stability for the long haul. We make a lot of commitments to our policyholders, and our long-term focus is a big reason we’ve been able to keep those commitments.

Dedication to Diversity and Racial Equity
Doing the right thing
Our long-standing commitment to diversity and inclusion is woven into our business practices, our community investments, and our organization’s culture of respect and belonging. Doing the right thing is in our DNA. We share the sentiments of those throughout the world, promising to do better. To listen. To reflect. To do more. To make a meaningful difference within underrepresented communities. To take actions that lead to positive, sustainable results. To be accountable for the change we want to see in the world.
Life at Penn Mutual
Community Outreach and Wellness
Working side-by-side with local organizations, the Community Outreach and Wellness Team enriches the lives of those around us and inspires hope through service and support. The team also sponsors fun and engaging ways to encourage positive lifestyle behaviors — from nutrition and weight control to physical exercise and more.
Pride of Penn Mutual
We encourage everyone at our home office and in the field to recognize the accomplishments of their fellow employees. We celebrate behavior that is consistent with Penn Mutual's Core Values through special Pride thank-you cards and quarterly award ceremonies that recognize outstanding employees achievements.
Annual Picnic
The start of summer offers a fun excuse to spend a few hours in the sun, enjoying some fun outdoor activities, food trucks and a barbeque buffet. In the week leading up to the picnic, employees can also participate in a fundraiser for a worthy cause in the community.
Careers

You’ve got big plans. You’re driven to succeed. And you have high expectations for the next step in your career.
As a Penn Mutual employee, you’ll build on your expertise, and have a positive impact on the financial professionals we support and the clients they serve. Here, you’re an expert in the subject matter and you’ll always be treated like one. You’ll work side-by-side with a team of smart, personable and awesome people. The kind you'll have a lot of fun working with. Every day, your purpose is to help people get stronger. But here's the thing: Professionally, you're getting stronger, too.
