The Opportunity

Our Data Engineering team, within our Data Services Organization, builds and maintains the infrastructure essential to delivering high-volume, business-critical data to the organization to enable data-driven decisions.

We are focused on expanding our Enterprise Data Catalog by working with stakeholders and data publishing teams to improve the discoverability and transparency of data across Pluralsight. This role will work closely with engineering, analytics, and data science teams to understand the data and build out accurate and informative metadata and definitions of data assets.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone that wants to make a huge impact at an organization by enabling visibility to data that didn't exist before. This role will define the path for data quality, discoverability, and governance at Pluralsight for years to come.

Who you are:
  • 2+ years of experience in Data Stewardship, Data Governance, Metadata Management, Business Intelligence, or Data Analysis
  • 1+ years of experience capturing and documenting complex business and functional requirements
  • 1+ years of experience writing SQL queries
  • Prior experience with Enterprise Data Catalog products (data.world, Alation, Informatica, Atlan, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Database and Data Warehouse systems (such as PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Familiarity with BI/Reporting platforms (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Prior exposure to privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, along with an understanding of PII expectations, is highly desired
  • Strong planning and organizational skills and an ability to work autonomously
What you'll own:
  • Maintain and continually improve the Enterprise Data Catalog in a manner that accurately reflects the state of data within the organization
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality and data protection standards and metrics across the organization
  • Streamline Data Stewardship processes and work flows to increase efficiency and security
  • Continuously communicate with all aspects of the organization to discover new data sources and bring them under the umbrella of Data Stewardship
  • Assist with implementing initiatives such as a data management roadmap, data quality programs, and data retention policies
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve data management training and communication materials
