I & E Manager

SUMMARY:

The I&E Manager is responsible for managing instrumentation and electrical design, commissioning for new capital projects, and modifying existing processes in the Riceboro, Plaquemine, and satellite facilities. The I&E Manager will ensure that their group's tasks are completed on time, the correct technology is used for each project, and company standards are followed during the design phase. The I&E Manager will promote a safety-first culture inside the group. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

LOCATION: Riceboro, GA or Plaquemine, LA facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develop/refine the scope of work for all I&E employees across all sites.
  • Assist in project schedule creation; provide an accurate time frame for completing individual I&E-related activities.
  • Develop and maintain all site procedures, standards, and typical installation details.
  • Manage the development of equipment specifications, Instrumentation sizing, scopes of work, and technical information for I&E construction bid packages.
  • Develop resource loading plans for project commissioning activities.
  • Provide weekly status updates to the engineering managers and maintain the group's KPIs.
  • Provide technical support to ensure project goals are met.
  • Participate in PHA/HAZOP and other regulatory activities as needed.
  • Project lead for those projects with an I&E focus (e.g., 15kV distribution, DCS, networking, etc.).
  • Knowledge and development of electrical classification requirements (Class I, Class II).
  • Review electrical and instrumentation project documents as needed.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain talent and maintain a collaborative team environment. Manage performance evaluations and potential disciplinary matters for the group.
  • Ensure I&E technicians, programmers, and other team members comply with department objectives, policies, procedures, and KPIs.
  • Coordinate and build relationships with electricity providers to support growth targets at each site.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the parent company's I&E and Engineering manager.
  • Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on new equipment and trends related to electrical and instrumentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10-15 years of related experience in electrical design.
  • 3+ years of experience working in an RMP and PSM environment.
  • More than five years of management experience.
  • Ability to manage to manage virtual team members and onsite team members.
  • Strong organization, planning, and management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for the team to meet requirements and deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of project management techniques.
  • Above-average communication skills.
  • Familiar with relevant codes and standards, including NEC, ISA, NFPA, etc.
  • Practical understanding of electro-mechanical systems, including pneumatics, automated control systems, motor control centers, generators, and other electrical equipment.
  • Power Distribution within chemical plants (480v, 13.8 kV, 230 kV).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Passport (or the ability to obtain one). Employees may be required to travel to France (0-2x per year).
  • Comfortable with moderate travel (30-50%).
  • Require to be onsite full-time either in Riceboro or Plaquemine.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Yokogawa VP or other control system troubleshooting, programming, and networking.
  • AVEVA E3D I&E (or other software for rapidly producing one-lines, loop sheets, etc.).
  • PE License.
