SUMMARY:

SNF Holding Company is seeking a Powder R&D Chemist Ifor our Research & Development Department. With limited supervision, the Powder R&D Chemist I will perform Laboratory Polymerizations, including Raw Material Qualification, In-Process Support, Toll Manufacturing, or New Product Development. Must be able to work with production personnel to resolve production issues and introduce a new product or Toll Manufacturing Formulations in the Powder Plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Perform routine laboratory Powder Polymerizations.
  • Characterize polymer properties according to standard testing procedures.
  • Assist the Powder Plant in new product or Toll Manufacturing introduction.
  • Work in Cross-Functional Teams to improve Powder Process Functions (Cycle Time, Process Improvements, Product Enhancements/Modifications, etc.).
  • Monitor raw material storage room to keep all chemicals up to date and in compliance.
  • Maintain all laboratory notebooks and CetLab (including correspondence, formulations, calculations, analytical results, performance results, etc.).
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Follow mandatory safety practices.
  • Attend all assigned Safety Training, either through online or in-person classes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry is required (Organic Preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Laboratory Environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Laboratory Synthesis preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an Industrial Manufacturing Environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Analytical and/or Organic Chemistry.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Controls and Methods.
  • Polymer polymerization experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Possess good communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Software Applications.
