SUMMARY:

SNF Holding Company is currently seeking an Analytical Applications Chemistfor our Research and Development Department. The Analytical Applications Chemist will perform routine testing for internal and external customers, including Production and R&D. The ideal candidate would have a good fundamental knowledge of chemistry and enjoy learning new things.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Understand theories and principles of instrument operation, such as HPLC, GC, ICP, IR spectroscopy, light scattering, and titrations.
  • Perform standard and customer-specific laboratory testing. Develop new or improve existing test methods as needed.
  • Show continuous improvement in technical and laboratory skills
  • Interpret analytical data for conclusions and summaries.
  • Document all work, both in the notebook and electronically.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Train associates on proper instrumentation operations.
  • Troubleshoot customer problems and work with different internal groups to create solutions.
  • Discuss SNF products and processes with customers without disclosing confidential information.
  • Prepare individual project presentations and broad-scope presentations for internal and external customers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Polymer applications or Analytical experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Analytical Chemistry preferred.
  • Experience with Chemical Analysis is preferred.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to collaborate with different groups.
  • Highly motivated and detail oriented.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Minitab, or related software.
